Police arrest man after teens are robbed

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Tuesday on the north side, where  two 17-year-old  youths were approached by three unknown men on bicycles.  Its a shame that neither of the youths didnt have 1/2 oz. Pepper Shot w/Injection Molded Holster, or Keychain Alarm w/ Light. If they had, maybe someone would have come to their rescue.

One of the men produced a handgun and  demanded the teens hand over belongings and cash. The victims complied and the suspects left the area. No one was hurt. Its really unfortunate that in this state criminals have more options than the citizens. It would be a great benefit if the taxpaying, honest people could defend themselves with TASER® C2 with Laser Sight – Black. The criminal have the upper hand when the honest people are not able to protect themselves and police wont.

About two hours later, police received information that the suspects were spotted  in a different area. Officers responded, locating and arresting one of the suspects, a 23-year-old  man. Police found a handgun during the arrest. This is good but what if the youths were wounded or killed?  For the low cost of $22. the kids could have possibly used their Stun Master 100,000 Volt Straight stun gun. Unfortunately, they are not legal here, but the theives all have their guns.

Police will pursue armed robbery and other felony charges against the men, if they are caught. This is such a sad state for the law abiding, helpless citizen trying to do the right thing.

Police investigate robbery on south side

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the area of the city’s south side Thursday night.  Its not a good idea to walk to the store late at night without some type of personal alarm,  whistle, taser or pepper spray.

Police spokesman  said that at about 11:50 p.m. a 24-year-old  man was walking  from a store when he noticed a suspicious person standing near a tree in the darkness.

As the 24-year-old approached, the subject jumped out, displayed a handgun and demanded money and other property.  Its not easy to defend yourself against someone who has a weapon, but the best defense are the protection videos offered on the website. Check them out.

The victim complied, and the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Dont use cash, carry a credit card or a debit card.

The victim saw the suspect flee in a gray car.

Shooting victim plans to return to Gulf for job hunt

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

While an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has meant misery for many people, it gave a man a chance at a good-paying job, something he couldn’t find in home.

But a robbery attempt in New Orleans has landed the 39-year-old back home, awaiting another chance to return south and earn a living to support his wife, 3-year-old twin daughters, and 9-month-old son.

He moved to Louisiana in May to find a job in the aftermath of the April explosion on an oil rig that so far has spewed millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico.

Within a few weeks, he landed a job earning $18 an hour as a safety monitor working on the cleanup.

It was during a Memorial Day trip to New Orleans’ French Quarter whenhe stumbled into a mugger. The man told him: “Give me everything you’ve got,”.  If he had a stun gun, electronic whistle or pepper spray he may have had a good chance of fending off the attacker without getting shot.

Instead of handing over $300, a watch and wedding band, he ran. He was shot in the buttocks. “I was running, and just like Forrest Gump said, something reached up and bit me,” he said.

Crime is on the rise especially in this ecomony.

Man arraigned in park beating

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

A 42-year-old  man has been charged in connection with the beating last month of a 57-year-old man near a park on the south side.

The man who was on parole at the time of the May 22 attack, was arraigned Monday afternoon in District Court on a charge of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, according to police. He faces up to 10 years in prison. He is the second suspect charged in the beating of a south side man, whose backyard is separated from the park by a fence.

The victim’s wife  said her husband asked a man watching a basketball game in the park to stop shouting obscenities. She said the man and several others jumped the fence into the couple’s backyard and beat him severely. These people could have helped to avoid this incident if they had Wildfire Pepper Spray, a pointed Kubotan,  or Heart Attack.

A 35 year old woman also faces an assault charge in the case. A preliminary hearing for both defendants is set for June 25.

Police said last week other arrests are possible as the investigation continues.

Police searching for suspect in robbery of gas station early today

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Police are looking for a man who robbed the  gas station on E. Michigan Avenue early today. If the establishment had a Motion Detector Hidden Camera, the entire incident would have been recorded.

The man walked into the store at  E. Michigan Ave., displayed a handgun before dawn and demanded money from the employee.  If the attendant had Pepper Shot Pepper Spray he might have been able to stop the robbery.

The employee complied and the man left with an undisclosed amount of cash, heading north on foot.

Called about 3:10 a.m., police, including a dog and its officer, responded to the scene, but did not find the suspect.

The suspect was described as a man about 35 years old, 170 pounds and 5 feet 11 inches tall with a blond goatee.

He was wearing yellow shorts, a baseball cap and a Michigan shirt.

Man injured in early morning shooting

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

A 25-year-old man was shot in the back early this morning on the north side.  He is being treated at a local hospital where he has serious injuries but is in stable condition. People dont think it will happen to them, but crime always happens.

Police responded to several calls about shots fired in the north side about 1 a.m. today, according to  police. The police cant protect you. There are ways to help yourself.  Get some WildFire 4oz Pepper Spray 18%, or Electronic Pocket Whistle, or Keychain Alarm w/ Light.  Be aware of what is going on around you.

The victim stated he heard shots ring out and fell to the ground so he did not see who might have shot him.

Keep your eyes open at all times.  People are out there always looking for a victim. Please be careful.
